Oh Bellies and Babies, how much I love you! Thank you so much for hosting this first Annual Splendid Mamas Night Out Event! I met Angie very briefly at another event last year at Gingersnap Baby, and immediately knew I wanted to work with her. Her fun, spunky (and just very likable) personality, and obvious love for connecting and helping Moms make it hard not to notice her and her wonderful business. I couldn’t be more excited to be using their space on Saturday. Now, for a little about Angie, the founder of Bellies and Babies!

Tell us about Bellies and Babies!

What I love most about what we do here at Bellies and Babies is that we make a difference in how a woman experiences and remembers some of the most important times in life. Whether it’s fertility, prenatal or postpartum work, we enable our clients to enjoy these times without pain so what’s left is nothing but joy. That’s what every women deserves and gets with us here.

What is your favorite product you sell?

I really like the Beauty Counter tinted face moisturizer. I’ve never been someone to wear a lot of makeup so this gives me just a little skin kick to make me look and feel a little more awake while adding a subtle glow to my skin with tons of moisture.

What makes you different and unique in your field?

No one else in the nation practices massage the way we do here. Our specialty is taking the “common” out of common aches and pains. Pains aren’t common. To say common aches and pains is really disturbing especially when it comes to such significant, physically demanding times in a woman’s life. We set the new standard of what “common” really is and that’s pain-free.

What are you giving away?

We are offering our ladies gift cards to come back and visit here at Bellies and Babies to experience themselves why we are the leading provider in women’s physical care.

What made you laugh today?

The funniest thing this morning was when my little girl, she’s 4, was sneaking into our room. She climbed into bed and as she was finally comfy, passed gas. It was tiny, cute, gross an funny all at once. It came out of the silence and sent my husband and I into hysterics. TMI?

You know you’re a mama when…

You know you’re a mama when reach into your purse to pull out your wallet and instead pull out a pair of little girl Doc McStuffins underwear. AWKWARD!

What have you learned by being a parent?

My kids have taught me that they are super cute as kids so that we as parents don’t get so frustrated that we leave at Target during a major melt down because she can’t buy a purple fuzzy coat.

I never leave the house without…

I never leave the house without bobby pins or hairbands. I have really curly hair, the wild beast could come loose at any point in my day. I need to be sure to have back up just in case.

How can we contact you?

If anyone has any questions about the company, what we do, why we do it or just to chat, we can be reached by website (www.belliesandbabiesnc.com), phone 704-858-4445, or email at info@belliesandbabiesnc.com.

What else should you know?

……….I’d like to maybe apologize if anyone happens to catch my family circus and I out in public and in full action. I swear my kids can be less savage like, they just choose not be while in public. Usually Target.

Kelly joined our mama group several months ago, and I have yet to meet her in person. I can’t wait to connect on Saturday night. I also do love Jamberry nails. So easy, and fun, and the people that sell these usually have a pretty fun style with a lot of personality to boot! Read more about Kelly!

Tell me a little about you, and a little about your business.

I’m a Christian woman who struggles every day. I met my wonderful husband in college and we moved to Charlotte in from Boone, NC after I finished school at ASU. We rented for a year in Ballantyne before buying our home in Steele Creek. A LOT has changed since then. Friends we knew here have since moved away but we’ve met so many fantastic new friends who will be in our lives forever.

We had our first son in January 2014 and he. is. our. world. He brightens every day and reminds me that I can be a kid again too. We’re currently expecting baby #2 in April and can’t wait to find out the sex in a few short weeks!

I joined Jamberry in January 2015 with hopes of making a little extra cash on the side, since my husband and I still both work full-time jobs outside of the home with our son in daycare (read: bye bye, paycheck!). I had no idea of the amazing sisterhood that I walked into when I hit that sign up button.

What do you love the most about doing what you do?

I love the products SO much, but what I love the most is the family of consultants that I have joined. They told me they’d support me, but I had no idea just how helpful these wonderful ladies can be. There is always someone willing to help… and it only takes about 4.2 seconds.

What’s your most favorite product you sell? Why?

Definitely the wraps! They’re the item Jamberry began with and is known for (although we have launched a ton of great, new products in the past year)! The wraps are super durable, non-toxic, customizable, easy to apply, and FUN! A Jamicure is a great way for ladies to express themselves while staying on a budget. There’s 300+ designs and can range from super funky to neutral/solid/French tips. There is literally a nail wrap to fit everyone’s style.

What makes you the most unique in your business?

There are thousands of Jamberry consultants out there and they are all great, I’m sure. But what makes me unique is how I interact with my customers. I strive to make each one of them my friend and make plans to hang out, grab coffee, have movie night, etc.!

What will you be giving away at the Splendid Mamas Night Out Event?

A “Jam Jar” filled with Jamberry goodies!

You know you’re a mama when?
When your car is trashed with milk stains, crushed cheerios, and tissue shreddings.

What have you learned from becoming a parent?
Getting ready to leave the house requires 10 times more effort and 100 times more planning than it ever used to!

You never leave the house without…?
A paci. Otherwise, my son will inevitably have a meltdown asking for it. Working on that obsession…

Jessica and her sister Nikki are two creative and lovable, creative people. Their love for design, and creating helped birth their brand new company. Read about their new business, and learn why you will love NillJilly Designs!

Tell me a little about you, and a little about your business.

NillyJillyDesigns started by wanting to make cute things for ourselves. Then family and friends began asking for things for themselves. Jessica & Nikki are sister in laws, married to brothers. Jessica and her husband have a 1 year old daughter and fur baby Tucker. Nikki and her husband have fur baby RyLee and enjoy spoiling their 4 nieces! We are excited to have this family business and partnership to share our creations and talents with other families who want cute, sophisticated and affordable custom options for clothing and home decoration. We do embroidery and vinyl projects. We have pre-made designs or can do something custom for you.

What do you love the most about doing what you do?

We love finding new designs and new products to create! We also love making new products to test out because then we keep them for ourselves!

What’s your most favorite product you sell? Why?

We love baby and children’s embroidered and appliqué outfits! There are so many designs to choose from and your child will be the only one wearing their custom outfit at the next gathering you take them to.

What makes you the most unique in your business?

We are first a family, then a business and we make products that we love and want to share with others! We do this because we have fun, enjoy spending time together and as a bonus make a little extra money to fund the things we make for ourselves!! By having this unique partnership we are also able to sell locally in both Charlotte and Columbia.

What will you be giving away at the Splendid Mamas Night Out Event?

A pair of our Fall and Christmas dish towels and a Cookies & Milk for Santa plate and mug set.

What made you laugh today?

My daughter spent more time waving at anyone that walked by and smiled at her than actually eating her lunch today!

You know you’re a mama when?

Your days’s schedule is planned around meals and naps. You are often juggling multiple things at once and running on limited sleep, but now have a constant feeling of joy and pride that’s hard to imagine before becoming a parent.

What have you learned from becoming a parent?

To slow down and appreciate the little things and to enjoy every crazy moment along this parenting journey.

You never leave the house without…?

Phone and one of our baby carriers and the paci when our little one is coming along!

Melissa Mott and her monograming and embroidery business is making an appearance as well! Definitely adorable, and definitely a great gift for the holidays!

Tell me a little about you, and a little about your business.

Sweet Pea Stitching was born from my desire to be a stay at home mom to my two children, yet have an outlet for my inventive spirit, creativity and savvy with a sewing machine. Sweet Pea Stitching, is my custom gifts, monogramming and embroidery business. I love to give good gifts, and feel the best ones are meaningful and specific to the individual. That’s the heart behind Sweet Pea Stitching.

What do you love the most about doing what you do?

I love when someone tells me the colors or theme of their nursery and I get to customize a quilt or stroller blanket for them. It’s so fun to see the look on their face when they first see the final product.

What’s your most favorite product you sell? Why?

I make a variety of custom gifts for adults and for kids. Some of the most popular are monogrammed hooded towels for babies, but they are large enough to grow with them.

What makes you the most unique in your business?

I individually pick quality products to monogram and embroider while keeping the price under $50, with the exception of some quilts.

What will you be giving away at the Splendid Mamas Night Out Event?

A monogrammed throw. The throw will be available to see at the event, then the winner can decide on the monogram they want and I will ship or deliver the finished product within 7 days.

What made you laugh today?

My daughter who has some speech delays has started mimicking laughter. Whenever myself, husband or son laugh she will start to cackle! It is hilarious!

You know you’re a mama when?

You start addressing everyone (husband included) as buddy or pumpkin.

What have you learned from becoming a parent?

Your kids will imitate your mood and be as flexible as you teach them to be, this holds true for my daughter with special needs too.

You never leave the house without…?

Sippy cups of milk.

How can people contact you before or after the event? (websites, emails, social media)

Email me at SweetPeaStitchNC@gmail.com or message me on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/SweetPeaStitchingNC.

What else should we know?

I love custom orders! The heart behind Sweet Pea Stitching is that every product would be a unique creation. Except in the case of intricate designs, I generally complete custom orders within 7-10 business days.
